The most recent SteamVR update uses EXT_memory_object by the way. That means OpenGL clients should now have usable performance.

This issue contains basically everything that should work now: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Ste...inux/issues/65
Doom 3 will work with an updated Vulkan loader, maybe it even is already updated in the steam runtime
ChimeraX, a closed source scientific visualization app, works well if you use the command "lighting simple" to reduce rendering quality
Vivecraft works but is a bit laggy
JanusVR, a closed source "web" browser, works but the right eye is corrupted and someone at Valve is looking into it
A real WebVR implementation is still not available (and working!) from either Chromium nor Firefox.

The shared semaphore patches don't work well for me, they make it more laggy and sometimes the SteamVR compositor even segfaults.

But with that fixed, it's slowly shaping up to be usable for SteamVR on linux.
