Phoronix: Intel vs. Radeon vs. NVIDIA OpenGL/Vulkan Linux Driver Performance

As another interesting benchmark special for Phoronix's 13th birthday is a comparison of Intel Kabylake, NVIDIA, and Radeon Vulkan vs. OpenGL Linux driver performance. Not only are we looking at the raw OpenGL/Vulkan performance but also the relative performance between graphics APIs on each vendor.

So even for Dota2 which has a good openGL implementation the vulkan renderer is now faster when running on the optimized nvidia driver (or amdgpu pro I guess). Will be the same for RadV too soon I suspect..

ssf2017 opengl renderer use GL 2.1, so no wonder why its performance its always bad taking in consideration that it doesnt even match dx9 features.

Thanks for including the CPU utilization results - this is an important metric.

Commercial games still have not been full optimized to take the complete advantages the of new Vulkan interface.
In fact, there is a lot of space for improvement both at driver lever, as well as games level.

Major differences between OpenGL and Vulkan are yet to come. At least for AMD.

These Vulkan/OGL benchmarks would make more sense if uses AMD CPU (FX or Rysen), the Intel + Nvidia combo can run OGL smoothly.
              I've a FX6300, the difference is huge.
