As a software developer for proprietary software companies, I've never understood open source project.

These projects are like a never ending story of an unstable/unpolished product. There's a lot of focus on irrelevant crap, like a browser that doesn't stand a chance, things like a calculator, a chat app, or worse, a chat feature in your browser..... and too little focus on the core purpose of the software...

So many devs, yet no leadership, no direction.... aimlessly coding.... it could be an episode on the twilight zone.

MiNUX. Yeah, much opensource are like that. Gnome is different. It is big enough to have design teams, testers and so on. It is also used in enterprise systems and backed by Redhat. Some of the other desktops are just a laugh..

Yeah and huge memory leaks which eat your PC's RAM.
