Why can't vim just parse the Vulkan header like every other half-decent editor?? Do people really have to do this by hand in 2016?

vim is a very light weight editor, adding a parser so obtain the information needed for the syntax highlighting would probably be overload, considering that it needs to be done just once.

My guess is that the infomation was extracted by using some semi-automatic approach, i.e. parsing the headers by using some external tool and then checking and correcting the result.

An IDE usually doesn't display function names included from a particular header file (vulkan.h) with one color and function names not included from the particular header file with another color.

I thought VIM is now using Vulkan backend for rendering
