It's probably just a matter of time until Rusticl can run on top of Zink, bringing fast, open OpenCL to pretty much all platforms.

It still sounds like science fiction, unfortunately. I hope it happens eventually.

Me too, plus making OpenCL unnecessary by completely absorving it's capabilities in an uniform API.

CUDA needs to die, OpenCL is a mess.

Cool, but I'm more interested into Vulkan to finish its video extensions by implementing support for the open codecs like AV1 and VP9!

How far is the Vulkan support for h264 and hevc? Does FFMPEG support it along AMD/Intel/Nvidia drivers?
