    Would making State Trackers output SPIR-V instead of NIR make sense now? Would that or Zink actually improve the CPU bottleneck that OpenGL is usually hampered by?

        no, only rewrite of applications will do. i.e. hardware upgrade for already released closed-source games. zink can only slow already slow opengl app even more

              Proton and DXVK is great, except when it comes to DLL memory injections and spooky windows stuff that some modding tools use. (Mod Managers / SpecialK / Performance DLL hacks etc..)
