    I thought VK_EXT_directfb_surface was something many proton/wine users were crying about for ages, and something that has been missing on AMD in particular. Maybe I'm thinking about something else.

    No. Vendors can add whatever extensions they wish.

    But if it triggers you, then simply ignore anything that is not core version or KHR extension. Extensions are optional to use.

    What gave you that idea? AFAICS defining a VK_*_surface extension is exactly how one is supposed to integrate vulkan with an existing window system.
