In other news, Apple are still jerks and refuse to support Vulkan natively.

Aren't they on their way to remove 32bit support and kill old games anyway? That platform is pretty dead if you ask me.

Yep. So many games are going to break when they remove OpenGL and 32-bit support from macOS. Isn't the Steam client application still 32-bit too?

Will it break Wine support too?

Steam itself is 64 bit but still has a 32 bit launcher.

Steam client on MacOS is 64 bit for a long time.

Ahead of the public release of macOS 10.14 Mojave this fall, Steam has finally updated its Mac application to be...

Other than that ; devs/ publishers were updating some of their titles to 64 bit and Metal already.

For example ; Medieval 2 Total War is 64 bit and supports Metal on MacOS. Port done by Feral Interactive.

But old games will definitely die, like my favorite ones - FlatOut 2 and C&C Generals. You would say that they better work under Wine and you will be right, but I do not know whether Apple removed all code about 32 bit and whether Wine will be able to launch 32 bit apps on 10.15 Catalina.
