Phoronix: V-EZ: AMD Releases New Easy-To-Use Vulkan Middleware, Simplified API

AMD's GPUOpen group in cooperation with Khronos today is announcing V-EZ, a new project of theirs designed to make the barrier to entry for the Vulkan graphics API lower. V-EZ provides a middleware layer and simplified API for making it easier to get started with Vulkan development...

Vulkan wrappers and Vulkan abstraction layers are proliferating at near JS framework speeds

      Which one would you recommend?

Which is a good thing because Vulkan is damn difficult to use.

So vulkan being hard to use , makes the oversaturation of frameworks with similar scopes , good ?

My first thought was: "So, Vulkan is developing back to OpenGL?"
After thinking about that, I came to the conclusion: No. It's just a wrapper. OpenGL instead could never be that low level like Vulkan.

What oversaturation? What stuff are you smoking?

                  https://github.com/GPUOpen-LibrariesAndSDKs/V-EZ

From the looks of it, it is a "replacement" of the professional OpenGL driver stack. By making it easier to develop CAD-like applications on top of Vulkan, they might want to reduce the usage of OpenGL (often with Compatibility Profile) in this area.

V-EZ is a light-weight middleware layer for the Vulkan API targeting ISVs in the Professional Workstation Graphics space. The required low-level knowledge of GPU hardware and behavior in Vulkan is much greater than previous graphics APIs. V-EZ attempts to bridge that gap by augmenting the Vulkan API to lower the barrier to entry and allowing for traditional usage and semantics that Professional CAD ISV developers are used to.

V-EZ is not aimed at game developers.

Also, looks like a closed-source Windows-only binary... Great.
