      OpenCL is already being open sourced under ROCm project. The last time I've checked it ROCm was working, but not on par with the closed-source version in terms of performance.

        Something to keep in mind is that the ROCm code only works with the GCN chips (and I don't know which specific generations). So we'll still need things like clover for r600g-driven cards
