    Uh, no it won't. If they stick to the quarterly schedule there will never be a x.4 release. It will go x.0, x.1, x.2, and x.3, followed by x+1.0.

    Because that's stupid. It will just leave to inevitable questions about where 17.1 is, and then you'll have to explain that things don't work that way. And then you have to realize that 17.10 is not between 17.0 and 17.2, but rather 17.9 and 17.11, which is just way more complicated than anyone ever needs to worry about.
