    Keep in mind that GL 4.2 is already practically done. The major missing piece in 4.3 is compute shaders, which are also required for Vulkan - so you might as well bring that up in GL first anyways.

    After compute shaders land, I suspect you'll see a mix of development with people bringing up Vulkan and finishing off GL 4.3-4.5. It shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'd bet anything that a lot of GL 4.6 is bringing in Vulkan compatibility - such as the ability to load SPIR-V shaders, and so on.
