      no - the video decoder is a separate unit which does not currently have an open driver.

        ...aaaaand it's in, as of three hours ago. I don't have a RPi and am still hesitant to buy a Broadcom-based device, but this is a good step forward. Now if only more interesting ARM boards (with decent CPUs and I/O) had similar open graphics support.
