Phoronix: Microsoft's Mesa D3D12 Driver Now Allows OpenGL 4.2

In a short period of time Microsoft's D3D12 Gallium3D driver has gone from implementing OpenGL 3.3 atop the Direct3D 12 interface to now having working OpenGL 4.2 support...

Is the OpenGL standard still in develepment?

The last version of OpenGL (4.6) is from July 2017 (3.5 years ago).
And the Khronos Group is more developing on the Vulkan standard. The last one is out from January 2022, the version 1.3.204.

And a Mesa D3D12 driver which allows Vulkan, don't exists, I think.

So the situation is similar like supporting with WINE only D3D9. Then only old software or software, which support old techniques is supported.

So newer Linux games, based on Vulkan, don't run on WSLg ?

I repeat myself but calling an OpenGl driver "d3d12" is really stupid and confusing.,.

I personally like this move: if I had to use Windows this would make my experience way better.
The same is true the other way around (wine and similar projects): anything that allows the user to run more software is a win-win.
