    one of the nice things about linux is all of that stuff can be fairly easy to implement. either at the compositor level like gamescope, or at a hardware level, I actively use an hd 4350 which could if I wanted to, drive gamescope directly on a CRT monitor.

        I'm interested in seeing if this works on a GeForce4 Ti/FX5800 or Radeon 8500/9700 Pro. If it does, I might be looking for a K6-III+ or Athlon XP box to shove Linux on.

          if the cards support gallium it might work
