No, Intel already uses the standard GBM. No change there.

For AMD cards, since 2018. For Intel, since 2019, but YMMV for some titles in case of INTEL. For this feature, no matter the manufacturer, the bugfixing is a neverending story, by definition.

Drop can mean "to release" something in English, though this is more slang use. In that context, your original phrasing is correct.
It was just ambiguous because drop can also mean "to discontinue" something as well.
