21.2 will, finally, include the alternate gbm backend support.

(Please, Nvidia, do something. I got one of your cards for cheap recently.)

[QUOTE=evasb;n1270210]21.2 will, finally, drop the alternate gbm backend support.

      [Noob alert]

I know you are concerned about NVIDIA but will this effect non-NVIDIA user like me? I have Intel graphics.

No, Intel already uses the standard GBM. No change there.

What? I thought NVIDIA finally decided to go the GBM route...

Has the double profile (core or compatibility) been managed in Mesa drivers?

Yeah, I don't know why I used "drop" in this sentence. English is not my native language.

For AMD cards, since 2018. For Intel, since 2019, but YMMV for some titles in case of INTEL. For this feature, no matter the manufacturer, the bugfixing is a neverending story, by definition.

I guess you meant drop as in dropping into a shelf rather than dropping off the shelf?

Drop can mean "to release" something in English, though this is more slang use. In that context, your original phrasing is correct.
It was just ambiguous because drop can also mean "to discontinue" something as well.
