    In the case of mesa_shader_cache, btrfs without compression appears to be exactly the same (according to /usr/bin/compsize) as with compression. btrfs uses 4 KiB to store any incompressible file that is larger than 2 KiB (2049 bytes or more), files smaller than or equal to 2048 bytes are (according to compsize) stored with byte-granularity. Curiously, a zero-filled file with size from 134 to 4095 bytes is stored using 18 bytes, except for a zero-filled file of size 2048 bytes which takes 21 bytes.
