    You know, one benefit of staying on the latest stable Mesa versions (kisak ppa for instance) is that you don't have to constantly recompile shaders every single day (Steam's "Processing Vulkan shaders" dialog) and also with emulators that leverage precompiling shaders.

    However I know not everyone has that luxury, especially if they're on newly released hardware that requires latest git, but something to consider. Not to mention, no worries of running into stability issues from a recent commit. Seems like a win/win.
