    This is still a VERY long way from being usable.

    In terms of other drivers, VMWare doesn't use NIR and won't anytime soon so TGSI support will stick around for the forseeable future no matter what.

    I believe that when the NIR driver gets feature and performance parity with the old TGSI path, the TGSI path could then be removed.

    Big thumbs up to Gert for this work.

    Hopefully they can make NIR the default for the Radeon R600g driver when Mesa 20.0 stable gets released.

    Mesa 20.0 is shaping up as a big NIR release or possibly even THE biggest NIR release.

    I hope so... Although I am just now seeing https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pa...penGL-4.5-Hits which looks like what I've been hoping for... I thought for sure my HD5770 would be supported but this looks like HD5800 is the minimum.
