    What are the benefits for end users? Is that "EGLDevice" same that in Nvidia proprietary driver for Wayland?

        At the end of the article it says that the motivation is for testing purposes.

        so the benefit for end users is a more robustly tested desktop environment

          Yes, my motivation is for testing purposes. Apart from that game developers could easily select the GPU that their game should run on.

            Let's not forget cases where you want to run your display server/windowing manager on the low-power GPU, while your game on the more powerful one.
