NVIDIA 340.32 is needed to be able to extract the firmwares with the tool in NVC0 Firmware.

That should be enough to get an accelerated 2D (glamor-based) and 3D desktop as long as you have the latest nouveau ddx and mesa 10.3.

Ahhhh okay, good to know, didn't see it mentioned anywhere about 340.32 and was using 331 since that was the latest packaged in the 14.10 archive when quickly installing it. Will try 340.32 and see again.

To be fair, it is written "Note: These instructions were tested with 340.32. Other versions should work fine too, but if the firmware upload mechanism is too different, it will fail.". But a special mention about Maxwell should have been made since we do require 340.32 to get the firmware on it.

Okay, yeah, I had assumed it was just a general notice and wasn't related since when running the demmiotrace and perl script the FUC files weren't empty, but will update the article to note this. Thanks.
