NVIDIA's New Linux Patches For GPU Direct RDMA For Device-Private Pages

Phoronix: NVIDIA's New Linux Patches For GPU Direct RDMA For Device-Private Pages

NVIDIA engineer Yonatan Maman posted a set of "request for comments" patches this Sunday to implement GPU Direct RDMA "P2P DMA" for device private pages. This is the latest in the effort by multiple vendors to allow more efficient data sharing between GPUs/accelerators and other devices like network adapters...

It's is a Nvidia's Faults, Nvidia Pascal firmware for reclocking is not re-distributable and pascal has some
Firmwares lockings and signatures to block usage out of nvidia drivers, some of this has occurred when
in past Pascal GPUs are used to Bitcoin mining and nvidia has hated it.

Never. Those cards are a pain in the ass to implement reclocking for, and at this point they're so old that there's no appetite for it from nouveau devs. (and that's even IF nvidia could be nothered to release signed firmware for it, which they're not interested in either) The answer is basically "buy a 20XX card or newer."
