  • NVK for Fermi, Kepler, Maxwell, Pascal?

Somewhere… Reddit, maybe a Telegram group said that NVK will work with Fermi, Kepler, Maxwell, Pascal support when complete.

Obviously speculation but it was mentioned “KH” had Fermi+ started. Focus obviously on newer cards first and getting more features working thanks to GSP.

Fermi support was missing “back in the day” originally from nVidia I guess thanks to lack of cards in use?

Reason I’m asking? Stack of about 20x GTX 400 + 500 series and some GTX 600 along with Quadro cards sitting around idle because I can’t use them in Linux machines to give away thanks to outdated nVidia drivers ++ lack of Vulkan support.

So - just wondering if it’s worth keeping these around “just in case” for
    • give-away rigs
    • for testing to give to or report feedback to devs
    • or if I should just do some power mods and try to OC the snot out of them until they fry?!

(Don’t want to fry perfectly working tech if it can find a home)

If it will play Minecraft on OpenGL and Terraria via Vulkan? It has a home somewhere!

From my understanding, NVK currently needs the kernel to meet it, and the current kernel work is based on the GSP chip which is only found on Turing and newer.

    Perhaps karolherbst can clarify this
