    We are talking about desktop cards, so Tegra is not relevant to this. From what I understood, it's not just that firmware is needed (that can be extracted from the current blob with some effort), but that you need to find an exploit to modify something in the signed chain. And after that, you need to figure out what to change to actually affect clocking. So not sure how Nvidia providing firmware itself will help anything.
