I was really hoping the 'blank' in the title was going to be "open-source Vulkan" driver

Amd should make it compatible with Mesa driver.

GUI for some tasks is needed , even if it is only limited to some temperature monitoring or fan adjustments.

I'm an Nvidia user with prop driver but i am rooting for an AMD card at my next system change.

could not care less about some commercial marketing naming, only thing I care is plenty fast, stable and open source driver stack ;-)

Would like to have OpenGL 4.6 support in the new driver.

There are already oss projects that do that. The best by far is radeon profile. Allows both monitoring a overclocking an AMD cards.

Application to read current clocks of ATi Radeon cards (xf86-video-ati, xf86-video-amdgpu) - marazmista/radeon-profile

Have to admit though, would like the full control that you get from the prop drivers

I'll pass it along. No promises though, and Legal would probably require abbreviation to BFG.

Won't be the next name because it's not red.
