Okay, fixes for steam should be the least problem.
Atm I'm using the default kernel arch linux delivers. Like you said - stock.
I am also using these commands as boot parameters as mentioned before.
Earlier I had the problems that the dGPU might get stuck during boot and then I would not be able to start xorg and had to restart.
With modeset=0 or something the problem didn't seem to appear.
Right now I uninstalled amdgpu and only use. The system boots nicely, the orange led lights up for some time but then goes off again.Code:GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet acpi_backlight=video"
With DRI_PRIME=1 during runtime I get that error, quoted above. I had exactly the same erros with ubuntu. On Windows the switching of both GPUs was working, so there should be no hardware fault.Comment

Basically the system boots fine with iGPU every second time. Every other time it boots, hangs with the dGPU (orange LED) and I can't start Xorg, becaus it hangs forever... After a reboot the system is fine, I can do anything with the iGPU. Even try to use dGPU but it fails then.Comment

Yeah everything seems to be in order (that was a log without radeon.runpm=0 though, correct?). Here's mine for comparison:
The only differences are that I use slightly different versions of the kernel(newer), Xorg server (older), radeon module (newer), and probably mesa (recent git), and that I don't pass acpi_backlight=video. Also the TearFree option is set, but it works perfectly fine without, it just prevents tearing during video playback.
I should mention that I do get crashes from times to times while disabling the compositor, but I never had a crash at launch or while keeping the compositor on. I'm on KDE with KWin's OpenGL 3 compositor enabled.
So perhaps you did hit a kernel bug.Comment

The log is without "radeon.runpm=0" it is with "runpm=0" xD Okay, I'll fix that and upload another log. This is Arch Linux so I update it every time I use it. The kernel and mesa should be the newest stable release. I use Mate desktop, maybe this has some bugs. But on the otherside I have problems with the GPU before I load Xorg... Or more precise: I can't load Xorg after the problems appear once... I'll check the results with your command and post here again. Thanks!Comment

Okay, I checked the setting again. Unfortunately it has already "radeon.runpm=0" included. Should I add amdgpu.runpm=0 or something? Maybe there is some kind of conflict with that?Comment

Quick but dumb question, Did you install using Legacy or EFI mode? most newer laptops allow you to enable the dGPU only in EFI modeComment

That's a good question. At least I tried to install in EFI mode but without secure boot. But how can I check it now? Doesn't anybody see anything suspicious in the logs?
