Phoronix: RADV Fast Clears Land In Mesa Git, Fresh Vulkan Linux Benchmarks Imminent

As a quick update to yesterday's article about RADV fast clears by default was being proposed, that change-over just happened in Mesa 17.1-devel Git...

Do Intel GPUs have Fast Clears hardware? Is this something we could see added to ADV too?

Fast clears typically don't make a huge difference. They save a bit of memory bandwidth, how much completely depends on the game. I'd expect a few percent difference maximum.

              I second this, need R9 290 numbers.

As I said in other thread, since I am running OpenGL tests too, the R9 290 won't be tested since it's still regressed.

I'm sorry, I missed your comment it that thread. Even though I visit the forum every time I get a mail stating that someone has commented, I sometimes don't get notifications.

But this is AMDGPU (since it's RADV?), that wasn't regressed, was it?

So you probably need this patch to see much difference in DOTA2 at least:

                    Not currently in master.
