It's not driver dependent. It just reads back registers.

The knobs for things like power management and fan controls are already exposed via sysfs. For display management, it's all exposed via randr.

Also, for those who want a GUI for controlling the power management profiles and fan curves, check out radeon-profile.

(just ran something on shadertoy, so load may look a bit weird)

@schmidtbag: There's been a dump mode for scripts and pipes since 0.6 (in 2012).
Is it for AMDGPU, AMDGPUPRO or both?
The root-requiring mode works on any driver. The unprivileged mode only supports the open DRM.

              Try
              Code:
              radeontop -c
              for nice colored bars.

                Ah, that's nice!

First we would have to implement the features that the GUI controls in the driver, then we would have to port the GUI across to Linux (different interfaces, different driver capabilities etc..).
It sounds like controls for some settings are still missing though? Probably everything not related to power/fans and display management?

Display management is handled through randr; don't think we are missing much there. My comment was in response to a long thread about the Wattman GUI - AFAIK we do not yet have the controls in for things like power limiting.
