  • Some informaitons...

    Hi,

I'd like to have some informations about tons of news about open-source AMD drivers.

    We have :
    AMDGPU
    Radeon SI
    Gallium3D (directx 9 ?)
    Radeon Xorg driver
    Vulkan...
Mesa ? (not just for intel ?)

I'm a little lost between theses drivers, someone can explain me which are the best, active or inactive (most or less), or future ?

    Thanks !

I added a response to your question to the end of the "What is AtomBIOS and all these different drivers ?" sticky thread (link below):

OK, let's see. Let me do the AtomBIOS part first, it's shorter. There have always been debates in the driver development world (both open and closed source) about

All of the drivers you mentioned are active, although newer hardware will use amdgpu X and kernel drivers rather than radeon X and kernel drivers. The radeonsi driver is used in both amdgpu and radeon stacks (and radeonsi is a Gallium3D pipe driver in the Mesa project).
