I see this bug as 2 months needed for someone to switch compiler version

So is this a bug in gcc or in Catalyst?

That's a good question. Does the shim compile with GCC5 on other distro's or on other kernel versions?

Would be to much for the Ubuntu team to fix their issues before releasing, I guess.

It is the lazy morons at AMD who always fuck up. Every single time.
Intel and Nvidia never have any problem.
But AMD have problems everytime there is an ABI bump, every single time.

That is the reason why AMD suggest you to use mesa.
But Canonical wants to use proprietary drivers by default.

The AMD people can't be blamed when their driver, that officially doesn't even support the 4.2 kernel, doesn't work correctly on the 4.2 kernel. Yet, the Ubuntu people can be blamed for releasing a system with known bugs. But no, don't you ever change the holy release date, regardless if there are critical bugs. Why do these guys even have beta phases when they don't use it to fix critical bugs?

The bug is so bad, that if you happened to install Ubuntu in UEFI mode and there's no other OS detected, you won't be able to stop grub from booting to a broken system. From the broken system, it won't load up the terminal even if using the keyboard shortcut. In the end, I either have to chroot in or reinstall.

                  I reinstalled.

blame canonical because amd is a nice joke, if canonical waits for amd they never release a ubuntu version. fglrx is not the default driver in ubuntu radeon is. no system have no bugs gain some brains troll.

fglrx is a nightmare for some reason if need it in arch you need to use aur the fucking fglrx never works in new kernels and x versions, the big problem is amd opensource driver don't have the same features. ofc it's not a problem of opensource team it is a problem from AMD itself
