    ATi Ubuntu problem

    $ less /var/log/Xorg.0.log |grep EE
    (WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
    (II) Loading extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
    (EE) fglrx(0): [pcie] Failed to gather memory of size 262144Kb for PCIe. Error (-1000)
    (EE) fglrx(0): atiddxDriScreenInit failed, GPS not been initialized.
    (EE) AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI capable

    Any thoughts?

    Ubuntu 7.10.
    X1600

    Xorg.conf is fine, got AIGLX on.
    GLX is uninstalled.

    Cheers, Bas.

    What do you mean by 'GLX is uninstalled'. Have you removed it from your xorg.conf file? You *must* have the glx module loaded in xorg.conf for acceleration to work. Please post or pastebin your *full* /var/log/Xorg.0.log file.

      Hmm, my apologies to the forum, I'm no longer getting any errors and I didn't really do anything.

      Thanks for your time anywho.

      With my previous post, I made an error anyway. I meant XGL not GLX.

      What I mean from the xgl thing is in reference to my previous troubles with the ATi driver, where I was trying to load AIGLX and XGL at the same time, so going to the synaptic and uninstalling xserver-xgl fixed that for my last error.
