AMD Radeon Gallium3D Is Catching Up & Sometimes Beating Catalyst On Linux

I have an AMD R9 290, Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Ubuntu 14.10 + Mesa 10.5 git, Linux Kernel 3.18 git and CS:GO doesn't run like this benchmark.
I'm playing at 1080p, medium or hight settings and the game shows 30-40fps.

this benchmark shows almost 80fps at 2560x1600

What I'm doing wrong?

The CPU that you have is also a critical factor in determining what your performance will be. In the bench it's the Intel i7-5960X whicha brand new, top-of-the-line CPU just over $1000 USD.

Also, what's the cooler on your 290? I have the reference cooler myself.

Seems like that one varied between OEMs, some had 64bit memory > awfull performance

There was also HD 8510 rebrend not listed on that wikipedia article, seems to be also redwood with no exact known capabilities probably again as bridgman says with unknown but usually awfull memory perf
