    Well known open-source Radeon driver developer Marek Ol??k has landed a number of commits today inside mainline Mesa Git for improving the state of HyperZ for AMD hardware, a feature that remains disabled by default for the open-source Radeon Linux driver due to stability and artifact issues...

    AMD haters gonna hate

    Great news Marek!

    This open source driver is fantastic, all the haters are wrong. I have no illusions that the OSS driver isn't missing pieces, but in terms of long term support the OSS is head and shoulders way above Catalyst.

      This is good news. Those graphics cards are still away from their real potential, but slowly getting closer.

        I don't know how this driver can be better more , now performance in Xonotic is the same as in Windows

          Any numbers and other tests appreciated. Maybe Unigine, or Portal numbers? Thanks.

            Unigine Valley is at 80% when compared with Windows Catalyst, but remember this is on low powered Kabini 10.5 vs 12.9fps tiny numbers for both , so don't know what will happen on powerfull cards... btw. 81.4% to be exact

                  Yep r600 have some artifacts still, but radeonsi seems not .

                    Okay Catalyst OpenGL implementation is not perfect (like Nvidia's). What is the difference between Windows OpenGL vs. Windows DirectX. What I am wanthing to know how far Mesa is from the teoretical peak performance for the card. Thanks for doing this.
