  • Catalyst 9.7 fixed the XV issue .. GL problem is still there but doesn't matter since XV seems to work perfectly.

    • I have to make a correction. XV is working but but is rather bright compared to X11. So the black is not black anymore. Instead it's quite gray. Any way to adjust this?

Not tearing, that's for sure. Of course, that probably won't get "fixed" as it's not considered a bug.

              • ^^Duh :\ I am using 2.6.29 thats why there is lag with Kwin effects ?

Why they are slow in supporting kernels ? :S IINM nvidia has support for 2.6.30 and above ?

Tearing is still visible, even if viewer than with X11. There was a scaling/performance problem with my card (HD3200) which made XV unusable with composite on. The last update solved it.

                    • Dear AT Devs

Some weeks ago you released an update, the catalyst 9.3.1, for your legacy products, the radeon Dx9, that run on windows xp. Ubuntu is one of the distributions you officially support, and Ubuntu 8.04 is a LTS. Since it's long term support, is it reasonable to hope for a 9.3.1 update on linux?

Also, about the power management in the open source drivers (radeon & radeonhd): which technology is concerned by these implementaions? Is it Powerplay from the mobility cards (three states, no other clock/voltage available) or is it the dynamic clock you introduced on the radeon HD3800 (which is also named Powerplay)?
