P.S. Now i have same 30 FPS in tear-free mode even with 13.6 Beta drivers. Later i'll try to install Catalyst 13.4, and will see if it changes.
    Is this you?

If not - consider to join this guy.
I'll also check it at home (probably).

I just added a comment with confirmation of issue.

They *finally* seem to have fixed all the issues I had with *all* my source games (TF2, HL2, CSS, L4D2, Portal), the main one being this brutal lag between input and what happens on screen with vsync disabled (and much less worse but still present with vsync enabled). All my games are running smoothly now in full 1080p glory (vsync disabled). Hallelujah!

PS. I'm using a 7660D GPU (integrated in my 5800K APU).

Just tested it with a FirePro 2270 [5xxx ASIC] and C13.6b.
Indeed, it limits the refresh rate to 30 fps.

I'll wait until C13.8b hits Arch before adding a comment.
Furthermore, I'll be able to test this with a 7950 at home.
So far this issue doesn't look ASIC specific.

Maybe this is not really a bug, but due to the way TFD is
designed (I couldn't find any information about it, though).
          However, that's not acceptable ofc.

BTW, by any chance, have you also tried this OGL 4.3 beta driver,
released last week? AFAIK these "special/preview" Catalysts are often from
significantly different branches. So if this 30 Hz thing really is a bug,
there is might be a tiny chance it's already fixed in that release but not in C13.8b.

With Catalyst 13.1, TFD properly limits FPS to 60.

Nope. I missed it. I'll try it later today or tomorrow.

Are you using gl_finish 1 from the console in each Source game?

gl_finish wasn't even implemented in L4D2 last time I checked.

About this, I have the openGl one installed.
I am confused if this driver is newer, and or if I should try Catalyst 13.8

The openGL 4.3 driver solved all issues in Serios Sam 3.

Left for Dead 2 does not run as good. as on windows. There is stutter.
It does not make the game unplayable though.

Arch already updated to this OGL 4.3 beta driver last week (they named it 13.7 beta).
So what I said was wrong. It's not 13.6b I tested but this driver (internal revision 13.15.100.1).
Hence, it also has the 30 Hz limitation with TFD.

As I wrote, I'm currently running this OGL 4.3 beta driver released last week.
It turns out that a bug I filed http://ati.cchtml.com/show_bug.cgi?id=733
was fortunately fixed with 13.6b but is "back" again with this OGL 4.3 beta driver.
So it stands to reason that this driver is based on an older branch than even the 13.6b driver.
