Since F17 and F18 use different versions of mesa it's possible that the games are using different rendering paths or extensions due to the additional features supported in newer versions of mesa.

Really Michael? You run 3 benchmarks, two of which are just different versions of the same game and try to claim that's enough data to make a definitive statement about r600g's status. Nor do you bother to take the time to use the automated bisecting you bragged so much about to find out what commit caused the drop in framerate for only one version of a game? How about you do some actual investigation before "reporting" on these things?
