I also just did some tests of the new Asynchronous DMA engine in drm-next against a late 3.7rc kernel in Unigine Heaven
    All tests are on:
    AMD Phenom II x6 1055t
    Radeon 6850 1GB
    Linux Mint 14
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD BARTS
    OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 9.1-devel (git-3392f2f)
    S3TC is enabled
    FP textures enabled
    LLVM back-end enabled

OpenBenchmarking.org, Phoronix Test Suite, Linux benchmarking, automated benchmarking, benchmarking results, benchmarking repository, open source benchmarking, benchmarking test profiles

It goes from 2.7 to 23 fps. Not quite a 10x increase. I'm out of time now, but after work I might run the full gaming suite and see what the overall improvements are.

Think - windows gets 100$ on every install. Linux - not.
Only if we support people who do opensource, we get opensource!
This is the only true way to appreciate their work.
30$ done. ^_^ More beer Marek!

Hmm, well, I was looking for someone to donate to in regards to graphics. But in the end I want to donate to KDE first, and it's just not worth the hassle to donate something like ?3... Possibly next time around.

Marek alone justifies why free graphics drivers can work.

                  It's actually 4 patches, not 1, Michael

But they were all applied to master today, so now it's 0 patches.

That's a "wow" kind of result. Good thing I was sitting...
