Phoronix: R300 Gallium3D HyperZ Is Finally In Good Shape

Marek Ol??k has fixed up the HyperZ support within the R300 Gallium3D driver so that it's working properly for more applications. R300 HyperZ is finally in a state where he may be looking to enable the feature by default...

I can confirm that Max Payne and Postal 2 works with HyperZ enabled on r300g (radeon 9600 agp).

    Thank you, Marek.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

(I own an radeon X1600 and would like to have a good driver for that.)

With this and some finishing touches the r300g driver could become an example of what can be achieved.

Great news indeed. I updated my PPA with these changes. I can confirm that the sauerbraten problem I was having on my RV530 are completely fixed now.

Next year we should nominate Marek for the FSF awards!

Thank you Marek for your wonderful work! Hyper-z is a much needed feature for Linux gaming, we need every frame we can get.

Awesome work Marek. I only feel it is a shame I have no R300g compatible hardware to play with.

Hope this provides some insight into R600g as well.
