        I just tried. Uninstalled it and restarted xdm. Everything keeps working correctly and only S3TC support won't work anymore.

        So I guess Mesa/Gallium just tries to load the lib at runtime. That's good; that means anyone can install it and it will "just work".

                  I don't know whether you know, but Marek had done some work in multi-threading drivers direction. At least for r300g.

                  I suppose that it will land in r600g shortly. Kudos to Marek!

                    David has just increased by 1000% the number of r600g users.
                    As soon it's in rawhide, I will erase fglrx from my HDD
