Hi, I have this ATI graphic card:
ATI Technologies Inc RV535 [Radeon X1650 Series] rev 158
I'm using the open source driver (radeon_drv.so).
I've connected the pc to my tv with a VGA cable (analog).
My tv is 1080p 100Hz.
Xorg automatically detects the tv and the 1080p, and sets the graphic card to 1080p.
The desktop looks good. I move the windows and the movement is fluid.
But, when I play a film (a low resolution film, no cpu problems), the video is not fluid.
I've tried all players (mplayer, totem, vlc, xine, kaffeine, etc), same problem.
People at forums recommend mplayer with XV driver config. I've tested it, same problem.
So I think the problem is not at the player program. The problem is probably at the xorg/driver config.
I have Fedora 13.
I have no /etc/X11/xorg.conf, only a /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-system-setup-keyboard.conf that only setups the keyboard. So all the graphic config is automatically done by xorgconf.
Perhaps the problem can be solved by creating a /etc/X11/xorg.conf with some magic words.
What do you recommend me to try? Do you know some magic words?
Thanks for your help
