But keep one working kernel (for example):
    kernel-desktop and drm-radeon-kmp-desktop from Kernel:HEAD and home:jobermayr
    and kernel-default from openSUSE_11.3

When you cannot boot with Kernel from Kernel:HEAD you can boot with a rescue Kernel ...
I added the two links to yast.
    yast then updated my system.
I just checked, as far as I can tell I have all the packages ? installed.

I did notice I also have the radeonHD driver installed, should I unstall that one?

It seems to me I can't remove my last reply.

      Maybe a mod can ?

I wouldn't worry about the extra post.

Can you maybe pastebin your xorg log and dmesg output ? You may be missing firmware or something...

          A small update.

Today tried booting the newest (from the link) SUSE kenrnel, but
          now, no more desktop.

Suse starts after I select it in the Grub screen.

I see one Suse screen then the screen goes blank, and monitor switched off.
Sound is still working,I hear the sound when normally the desktop loads.

Later today, I might try if the SUSE fail-safe will start.

Or start over by adding the two links, to this working version.

I spent allot of time in YAST yesterday.
The tip about making sure you keep a working kernel behind saved me.

I am sure I did not change anything, but thats what we all say.
