    where do we look to see this released, so we can see when support has 'arrived'?

    does act 7.0 arrive via kernel/kernel-firmware/mesa/etc...?

      Will EasyEffects + VLC + Firefox automatically use these or is some sort of codec + driver stuff needed? I'd love to see some more HW acceleration just to get energy usage down.

        I still don't really understand it. SOF is like Vulkan, only for the sound system? And can PipeWire use it for better performance or something like that?

          It's a framework and SDK for developing and interfacing with the firmware for the DSP included in some modern audio hardware. It allows you to use the DSP to perform custom transforms of the audio stream (e.g., echo cancellation, etc.).
