Why doesn't Rockstar fix their shitty game instead?

What they are probably rather doing right now is nuking every trace of vulkan code from their engine now that Stadia is dead. It's pretty much guaranteed that RDR2 only had a vulkan renderer because Google paid apparently tens of millions for a Stadia port. (https://twitter.com/jasonschreier/st...24344859545602)

            1-) Game is not shitty.
2-) RADV was never a targeted driver for them as they released for Windows, not Linux. So they're not obligated to fix/give feedback/workaround anything for RADV.
3-) Whenever a big Vulkan AAA game released RADV always started at a disadvantaged position. Doom Eternal, RDR2 are some examples. RADV doesn't get any prior testing, feedback from those studios therefore when games released there is a lot to explore for RADV. A counter example of this is; RADV is so damn good with dxvk/vkd3d-proton while AMDVLK/prop VLK is not that good because for that driver d3d translation is not a priority and that is not a targeted driver by those translation layers. So same issue RADV experiences but in reverse form.

TL DR; There is no blame on R* here as they never ever supported Linux desktop/will support Linux desktop and their work is fine on their targeted platform.

Vulkan is default on PC build and more performant than d3d12 renderer of the game.

while its true that the did support vulkan in the past only because google paid for it for stadia

its highly unlogical to drop vulkan now because stadia was a flop but valve steam deck is a success...

why not use the vulkan code to run the game on valve deck ?

Rockstar doesn't fix their games even on Windows.

Look at GTA V. It's been out for over 9 years There's still endless supply of hackers and the netcode is done by someone who has never written netcode before. When your game desyncs during a heist you have to change your graphics settings (resolution/frame-rate) so that the game's network resyncs. If you don't know about the workaround you have to quit your heist and start over (yes your new heist will also have desync issues!!!). The game's loading time is a joke even on my 5900X with PCIe 4 nvme drive. Rockstar does not support crossplay and they don't even link or allow you to transfer your account from one platform to another. If you played for 1000s of hours on a xbox 360 and wanted to move to a xbox one you have to start over. Spend the same amount of time to get to where you already are or take out your wallet and buy shark cards.

That said, Rockstar is not as bad as Bethesda but Rockstar is among the worst in terms of technical problems and effort of supporting existing products.
