    $ glxgears
    Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be
    approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
    5567 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1113.352 FPS
    5839 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1167.685 FPS
    5837 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1167.273 FPS
    5835 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1166.924 FPS

    What distro are you running ? Are your running glxgears from a composited environment ? If so, you beat me as I only get 870fps.
    my distro is kubuntu jaunty
    composite is enabled
