Phoronix: NGG Appears To Be In Good Shape For RDNA 2 / RX 6000 Series

NGG (Next-Gen Geometry) ended up being fairly buggy/problematic for Navi but it looks like for the upcoming Radeon RX 6000 (RDNA 2 / Navi 2) launch that it's in better shape...

I don't fully understand what the current state of NGG is in Navi, but "buggy/problematic" is not a good look. AMD is still trying to rise above a (very well-deserved) reputation for terrible drivers even after years of producing generally very good (Linux) ones, but having entire blocks still not work correctly this long after release sends a signal that AMD really can't afford: basically "never buy the first generation of one of our new architectures, because a big piece of it won't work". I thought we were finally past that point.

Is there a decent summary of the full state of NGG somewhere that we can see? Is it "Yeah, this is just utterly f**ked and it's never going to work", or is it "There's a handful of corner cases that need a slow path because the HW team screwed up", or what?
