    Will multi-monitor work?
Because I had to disable AMDGPU.DC ever since it was first introduced with kernel 4.17. Last I tried, on kernel 5.4, the issue was still there. I'm using an old R9 285, so maybe you don't have this issue on the newer cards.

So another vote for Enterprise followed by TNG, and this is from someone who used to run home from school to watch TOS episodes on TV for the first time. It would probably be fair to accuse me of preferring shows that are most like TOS, although I don't think about it that way.

By the way when we talk about off-topic, is "the real topic" the initial post, Voyager, or Star Trek in general ?
Well, the initial post is "Make the text in the graphs larger". All the Sci-Fi stems from an offhand comment I made and I did not mean to derail this thread at all.

I booted up my system with kernel 5.6, never even made it as far as games because Netflix didn't work and I happened to mention DS9 was my current bedtime story show as my reason for not sticking around on a 5.6 system...and it is like my 4th time watching DS9 it start to finish...Avery Brooks is one hell of an actor.

I agree with what's essentially the token alien comment about Discovery. It does pick up in the 2nd season and becomes a better show. Also, the first season is better the 2nd time through when you know the spoilers...just like Battlestar Galactica.

I'm glad I'm a fan of DS9 and Voyager -- Star Trek Picard seems to be using a lot of references from those. I have to ask this -- how many of y'all have CBS All Access and still download Star Trek Picard from the usual sources? I can't hear a damn thing on the CBS stream on my Roku TV but I can hear a scene rip clear as a bell. Is the audio that bad for everyone else too?

You guys been watching The Expanse, I hope? That's absolutely fantastic stuff
Take this from someone with all the SG1 and Atlantis Box Sets and Movies -- Watch Battlestar Galactica. It is one of the best shows of all time and one of the very few, like The Expanse, that even attempts to do 0g correctly. I'm talking about the remake, but the older ones aren't bad for 80s tv.

And of course I've been watching The Expanse. Twice already. It's the result of Stargate, BSG, Firefly, and Cowboy Bebop going to an orgy.

I know all of y'all have been watching The Orville. Right? Y'all better be. It's great TV. Eagerly awaiting season 3.

I haven't watched it yet. Been meaning to...but I keep forgetting it even exists...

Just checked and it's on Prime so I'll make a mental note to watch it when I finish my current evening binge of DS9.

Hopefully I'll remember it this time.

I remember the start being a bit shaky, stick with it and it rewards you. The characters grow on you super quickly and the acting is stellar as the seasons progress. I really miss them even after all these years lol Babylon 5 is a prime example of where good writing and acting massively trumps special effects and budget. It's got so much heart, I honestly prefer it to DS9 and they're both very 'spacestation'-focussed. I always wanted them to expand on the 'technomages' but I think they made a spinoff to the show and it didn't do well at all. Shame.

The Orville's pretty good, yeah It gets so much right and manages to be a comedy too. I silently beg that The Expanse doesn't go the way of GoT; please don't ruin it, it's so damn good.

I've enjoyed this scifi chat, I'm pleased people still have some good taste.

Molto bene...sublime to watch.

I love the Borg stuff and the Doctor, but you can't say episodes like 'Living Witness', 'Warhead', 'Muse' and "Critical Care" aren't quintessential (f**king masterpiece level) Star Trek For me voyager > DS9 fundamentally because it shows the very best of our Federation ideals in a strange new galaxy, trying to get home while following scientific inquiry and being altruistic without being holier-than-thou (say what you will about Janeway lol). That great episode 'Equinox' best shows this, where another captain succumbs to the 'screw our ideals, I'll do anything to get us home' mentality.

I agree that there are amazing episodes of Voyager, but for me, the problem is that at the end of the episode and the start of the next one .... everything is fine now. That is ok for TNG who are just a ship flying around local space but Voyager are in a shit situation and that should have reflected in an overarching theme like for example in Enterprise Season 3 ( awesome season by the way, prob best Star Trek season overall.).

I think out of the "classic (not shit) " Trek series DS9 is prob the best overall, TNG TOS and Voyager have amazing episodes but are not as strong overall Enterpise has a slow start but season 3 and to some extent 4 saves it. ENT like the TNG TOS and Voyager has good episodes in season 1 and 2 but over its whole run i think DS9 is better.

I'd say HDCP is bug, not a feature. At best it does exactly nothing, at worst it screws you up if you're unlucky.

Obligatory Topic: Very happy AMD RX 5700 and Ryzen 3700X user here. Debian Testing with kernel 5.4.19-1 does not seem to have any issues. GTA:O goes smooth in maxed settings with vsync enabled.
Just recently switched to an R5 3600, can't wait for a good RX card to replace my GTX 1070.

So yep I jumped on the RYZEN bandwagon. Its really nice to see the tdie sensor in kernel 5.4.

5.6.x (tested RC1 until RC3) is giving me strange tearing every 5-10 minute on 5700xt. switching back to stable 5.5.6 seems to solve the problem.

                      Did anyone got similar issue?
