    Hello!

    Radeon 9250 -> DVI -> BenQ G2400WD

    driver: radeon
    vesion: 6.9.0-1+lenny4

    My problem is that my monitor blinks in this setup: sometimes rarely, sometimes often and when running glxgears it blinks constantly. Few times after it blinked, the picture came back at different resolution: 1920x900 or 1920x300 both streched to full screen.

    Selecting "Always synchronise with verical refresh..." in driconf has no effect.

      Are you actually using DVI, or are you using a DVI-I connector going to an analog input ? There are some issues with desktop managers & tools (gdm, I think) where the tools make randr calls to query monitors frequently, then randr does a load-sense test on the connectors, which results in flashing of analog monitors.

      Hope I got all that right, the above is my vague recollection

        It's probably display fifo underflow. Try adjusting the DisplayPriority option in your xorg.conf.

        Try:
        Option "DisplayPriority" "BIOS"
        or:
        Option "DisplayPriority" "HIGH"

        It blinks more readily when you run 3D apps because the display and 3D engines are vying for memory bandwidth. The display fifo setup on older cards may need tweaking for the higher res monitors that are getting more prevalent.
