Phoronix: A Second Round Of AMDGPU Feature Updates Ready For Linux 5.1

Last week AMD submitted their initial batch of feature changes slated for Linux 5.1 with their AMDGPU DRM graphics driver. Today that's been complemented by a second pull request of new material to come with this next version of the Linux kernel...

"Low framerate compensation" aka frame doubling for FreeSync is still missing, apart from amd-staging-drm-next branch, right?

      Reposting from older thread.
Any chances we will get proper reset mechanism for VM's for Polaris and Vega cards?
It's silly that i have to reboot my host every time i run VM because when i try to launch it second time - vm hangs. Also, support for proper amdgpu driver unloading would be usefull so my Polaris GPU can be switched between host an VM.
Now, it's time to test if 5.0-rc4 kernel fixes problems with kms on my Ryzen APU introduced in 4.20 series...

Personally I haven't even been able to get Freesync working yet. Made another try yesterday with Linux-5.0-rc4, Mesa-19.0-rc1, latest libdrm and xf86-video-amdgpu, but it's not working. Xrandr reports vrr_capable=1 and even though I added VariableRefresh in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-amdgpu.conf, it's still not working. Don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if I should open a bug report.

I can't wait for Fluid Motion to finally arrive in Linux 10.0. I will never stop schilling for this feature.
