  • How reliable is the radeonfeature wiki?

R400 now has TVOUT? When did that happen?

I sure hope its true, Im compiling now.

And overall, how reliable is that wiki? http://www.x.org/wiki/RadeonFeature is the url Im talking about.

    unless im doing it wrong..

    xrandr --addmode S-video 800x600
    xrandr: cannot find output "S-video"

R420 video card.. maybe the opensource radeon driver doesnt really have R4xx tvout support?

      xrandr
      Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1680 x 1050, maximum 1680 x 1200
VGA-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
      DVI-0 connected 1680x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 434mm x 270mm
      1680x1050 59.9*+
      1600x1024 60.2
      1400x1050 60.0
      1280x1024 75.0 60.0 60.0
      1440x900 59.9
      1280x960 60.0
      1360x768 59.8
      1152x864 75.0 75.0 75.0 70.0 60.0
      1024x768 75.1 75.0 70.1 60.0
      832x624 74.6
      800x600 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2
      640x480 75.0 72.8 75.0 60.0 59.9
      720x400 70.1

      Xorg.0.log has:

      (II) RADEON(0): Skipping TV-Out
      (II) RADEON(0): Skipping Component Video

tvout does work via svideo via fglrx (and also works in xp)

I just think the wiki is wrong, unless I missed a big update to the driver.

Edit: it looks like "FabioPedretti" edited the wiki on the 6th to change the R400 status to DONE.

It's a wiki, so please stop ranting and blaming contributors and contribute yourself if you have updated informations.

Ah! Same ones I'm using. Good stuff.

Those should enable the latest features as long as your copy of mesa is recent. You may want to enquire directly with the driver developers to see if that feature is in the near-future pipeline.

You can see the actual changes to the driver as they're committed, by following the log at http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/dri...video-ati/log/
