          But you can't force older games to use it, unlike situation on Windows where the driver can (even sparse grid SSAA).

            d3d9 games that support ATOC (alpha to coverage) can use the feature on gallium nine.
            I look forward to add EQAA too (which is advertisable in d3d9 via MSAA quality levels).

                After second thoughts, I'm not quite sure this is worth it. Most game just won't enable you to pick EQAA. Thus the only way would be for a given MSAA level requested by the app to have the driver enforce the best EQAA respecting this setting (controlled by env var). However EQAA visual boost is very small, and thus the user would better just use max AA settings. Probably most cards can run max AA settings for d3d9 games.
